I can´t find an answer to my question?

When trying to install Dial!Fritz the message appears that no software is available for installing.

To fix this error and nevertheless to install the old version again you need to do this:

The file
/Library/Receipts/DialFritz.pkg
and
/Applications/Dial!Fritz.app
have to be deleted.

You then use the installer and Dial!Fritz will be installed.
The preferences of Dial!Fritz should be checked for correctness.

What is a ZTR-File?

A ZTR file is a Skin for the Handy Desktop Software "Tracker" by Symbianware and contains all necessary information and graphics. With the Skin the appearance of the user interface can be changed.

How to install a ZTR-/ Skin File?

After you downloaded the Skin compressed (e.g. as Zip file), you need to unpack this file.
You should have a Ztr file as a result and now you have two possibilities to install the file:

1. Transfer the file via Bluetooth, infrared or email to your Handy.
   After this select in the Tracker main menue "Skin" --> "Import Skin..." and select the new Skin from the list.

   or

2. Copy the file directly into the Tracker Skin folder. If you installed Tracker on the internal memory: C:\system\APPS\Tracker\Skins
   If you installed Tracker on the external memory (Memorystick): D:\system\APPS\Tracker\Skins

Once you imported or copied the .ztr file, select in the Tracker menue "Skin" --> "Select Skin..." and select the new skin file from the list.

Why are my shortcuts and preferences no longer present?

Created shortcuts and preferences are stored individually for each installed Skin. If a Skin is installed the first time, these must be created again.
With an update of the Skins these preferences are not lost.

How to use my own images/icons for shortcuts?

Copy your own pictures into the folder C:\documents\Media files\image\unfiled or D:\Media files\image \ and activate in the dialog "Create shortcut" the check box "Use Icon". In one of the following dialogs you can select a picture stored in that folders.

Skin elements, Icons or Skin pages are displayed incorrectly or contain elements of previous page. Is this an error?

No, this is no error in the skin. In the Tracker preferences you can deactivate the cache of the Today-View. Now the Skinview will be displayed correct. ("Apple-Menu" --> Tab "Preferences" --> "Miscellaneous" --> uncheck checkbox "Cache Today View" --> press "OK")

Why are no programs/applications shown in the "applications"-page or respectively how do I create an alias for a program?

Applications will not be displayed automatically. You can create an alias for your appplications. For that click on the menubar "Finder" - "Make Alias". Now a wizard for creating an alias will be shown. This screenshot shows an example application page:

How do I build the file to use the skin on my mobile phone?

With SkinEdit can you currently only design Skins. Unfortunately is it not possible to build the Skin for mobile phones on Mac OS X. This is only possible with Virtual PC, Qemu or on Windows PCs. I´m working on a solution to make this possible thru SkinEdit resp. on Mac OS X.

What is a mask resp. how to create a mask?

A mask is used to make pictures or skin elements on wanted locations transparent. To create a mask duplicate the origin picture (1) and edit the copy with a graphic software so, that the locations which should later are transparent be White and the locations which should not be transparent are Black (2). As result (3) would, like the example below demonstrate, a semi circle. The Orange background in this example is to illustrate where the picture is transparent.

Which kinds of image types can I use for the Skin?

At the moment only BMP (Bitmap) files are used. When you want to use other types like PNG, GIF, JPEG, etc., then open the image in any graphic software and save the image as BMP or convert the image to the BMP-format.

Will comments be overwritten in the Skin files?

Yes, the Skin files will be overwritten on every save process and comments will be deleted at present.

I have found a bug in SkinEdit. When will the bug fixed?

Is there such a thing? Please report the bug using my Contact Form with a detailed bugreport. I will remove the bug as soon as possible and provide a new version for download.

Is SkinEdit available in other languages?

SkinEdit is only available in English at the moment.
